Who is Maher Zain?

Maher Zain was born in Tripoli, Lebanon on March 16, 1981. Who is he ? Ok, I think many people have known this person very well . He is a Muslim Swedish rising R&B singer, songwriter and music producer of Lebanese origin. He also stayed for a while in the United States. His debut album Thank You Allah make him very popular. Mainly, He sing in English, but sometimes in other languages, including Arabic, French, Urdu, Turkish, Indonesian and Malay.

His family moved to Sweden when Maher was eight years old. Here, he continued his schooling. Maher is able to master the first keyboard when he was ten years old. He then entered the University and received a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering. During his young time, he spent many times until late of night with her friends at school to sing, rap, writing and experimenting with music in every way. His music was inspired by his father who is also an excellent musicians in the city of Tripoli, Lebanon.

Actually , Maher Zain musical talent has been seen since he was young when he became a music producer in Sweden. But according to Maher, the world of music which he have done offers many luxuries and made him feel something is missing, and there is even wrong.

Finally, Maher found the answer to his doubts in music after he met and joined in the Muslim community in Stockholm. Then, Maher also became active in the activities conducted in the mosque and he feels this is the meaning of a real house for him. Maher was grateful to finally find the right way, and he felt it was her turn to help others through music to do the same.

In January 2009, Maher Zain began working on an album with Awakening Records. His debut abum, Thank You Allah consist of 13 songs and two bonus tracks was released on 1 November 2009 with an exclusive Percussion Version and a French Version released shortly afterwards.

In 2011, Maher Zain also released his album in Indonesia where he sing two songs in Indonesian language. They are Insha Allah (Feat. Fadly Padi) and Sepanjang Hidup.

His valuable award came in January 2010 . He won Best Religious Song for 'Ya Nabi Salam Alayka', on Nujoom FM, the Middle East's biggest mainstream music station. He beat other popular singers including Hussein Al-Jismi, Mohammed Mounir and Sami Yusuf.
